Running a 6:13 pace for 3.1 miles, Allison Wakeland (SO/Hillsboro, Mo.) became the third-fastest 5K runner in STLCOP history Saturday at the Chile Pepper Cross Country Festival in Fayetteville, Ark.

Wakeland improved her personal best at the 5K distance by more than a minute to finish at 19:18.9 to finish in 37th place of 351 runners in the race. Her time beat Eutectic alum Janki Patel's PR of 19:24 to move Wakeland up the STLCOP list from fourth to third.

Wakeland was joined by teammates Alyssa McPike (FR/Monticello, Ill.) and Amber Tu (SR/Hacienda Heights, Calif.) in the race, who also ran well. McPike finished in 21:04 in 161st place, and Tu clocked in at 21:56 in 216th place.

The entire Eutectic team will next compete at the Disney Cross Country Classic on Saturday, Oct. 12, at 8:25 a.m. in Orlando, Fla.
