The Eutectic men's tennis team suffered a 9-0 loss tonight to the Hendrix College Warriors (Conway, Ark.) at the indoor St. Clair Tennis Center in O'Fallon, Ill.

The Eutectics took four games off the Warriors in the six-game pro-set doubles courts. Clark Berry (JR/St. Charles, Mo.) and Anirudh Kalathil (FR/Chesterfield, Mo.) took two games off of Eric Meyne and Micah Moore at Court 1, and Alec Johnson (FR/Cottleville, Mo.) and James Bamberger (SO/St. Charles, Mo.) claimed two games from Parker Work and Lance Smith at Court 2.

After losing the first set 6-4, James Bamberger came back to win the second set of his Court 2 singles 2-6 and take his opponent, Micah Moore, into a third-set tie breaker. In the breaker, however, Bamberger was unable to clinch the win, falling 10-6.  Alec Johnson also forced a tiebreak in his Court 4 match against Parker Work. After falling 4-6 in a close first set, Johnson got to 6-6 in the second set to force the seven-point tie-break, but lost 4-7.

After three matches, the Eutectics are still looking for their first win of the season. Next up, they travel to Henderson, Tenn., to take on Freed-Hardeman University on March 6 at 3 p.m.
